Botswana is a massive, largely unpopulated country - so when driving here it is good to know you have a new & well maintained rental vehicle. That is why the Cardboard Box Travel Shop has partnered with some of the largest & best car rental companies in Botswana to offer you a wide choice of vehicle.

On a normal holiday in Botswana a good deal of driving is done on unsealed (gravel) roads. Although most of these are in reasonable condition four wheel drive vehicles are better suited to handle these conditions - and we would recommend that the majority of our clients rent one of these for the duration of their visit.

We also offer a range of fully equipped 4x4 camping vehicles. The equipment provided includes items such as roof top tents, camping equipment, gas cookers & kitchen equipment to mention a few. The joy of these vehicles is that hey allow you to be fully self sufficient for extended periods. Although the rental vehicles offered here have good insurance coverage it is a good idea to investigate additional coverage so you are protected for all eventualities car hire excess insurance offers additional security.

Many of our clients fly into Botswana via Johannesburg or Cape Town and therefore would prefer to rent a car in South Africa and then drive to Botswana from there. Another popular option is to rent a vehicle in Namibia and then enter Botswana using the Trans Kalahari Highway.
