Water lily Lodge

Kasane | Botswana

Water Lily Lodge is situated in the north-eastern region of Botswana in the small town of Kasane, itself the gateway to the famous Chobe National Park and only a short distance from the world famous Victoria Falls. Kasane is an ideally situated town for visitors to spend a few days relaxing and unwinding after a tour or excursion, as well as those tourists and adventurers preparing for the safari of a lifetime into Chobe, the Okavango Delta, Savuti Channel or Moremi Game Reserve.

Botswana is a unique and diverse country and by far one of the most exciting safari destinations in the region. Wild and unspoilt, it offers incredible game viewing and photographic opportunities, especially when travelling the arid desert areas and the wetland paradise of the Kalahari and Okavango.

Many travellers quite often find themselves in large hotels or lodges on their trip in Botswana. For those who prefer something a bit quieter and smaller, then Water Lily Lodge is the place for you. Even although it is in the centre of Kasane it has a very tranquil atmosphere. Banded mongooses play in the garden and hippo sometimes come and graze on the grass by the river. (A small wall stops them from coming into the lodge though!).

The ambiance of the lodge is supported by a number of murals on the walls of both the public areas and in the rooms. The waterlilies from which the name of the lodge is taken, are in a pool in the centre of the courtyard. There is also a swimming pool and next door to the lodge is a supermarket, post office and Internet café. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant.

Accommodation consists of 10 spacious, double rooms, each with 2 single beds. Many guests comment on the soft and comfortable snowy white sheets awaiting them each night. An en-suite bathroom and toilet, air-conditioning and DSTV are standard. The rooms have been built around one side of a central circular courtyard on 2 floors and are situated on the back of the lodge, which makes it very quiet and great for a good nights sleep. They also face the gardens as well as overlooking the mighty Chobe River.

Activities revolve around game drives and boat cruises in and around river banks in Chobe National Park. All excursions are lead by highly professional and knowledgeable guides who know all the animal activity hot spots.

Airport transfers and pick-ups to and from Kasane International Airport can be arranged.
