Sedia Riverside Hotel is situated north of Maun, a thriving town that acts as the gateway to some of the most amazing wildlife on the continent. Sedia is set in 7ha of beautiful shady gardens along the banks of the Thamalakane River and is an ideal base to explore the renowned Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. The entire grounds are a fantastic venue for bird-watching, star-gazing or investigating the goings-on of the nearby river.
Not only is it popular with tourists and wildlife enthusiasts, but it has proved to be the perfect destination for the business community as well, due to the town's convenient location for travelling on to Victoria Falls, Gaborone, South Africa or Namibia. The Sedia Riverside Hotel prides itself on it's African ambiance, superb cuisine and genuine hospitality. Transfers to and from Maun International Airport, as well as a shuttle service to the town centre, is available for their guests.
The main building houses the reception, 2 restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining areas, the popular terrace pool bar (with it's own menu) and an indoor cocktail bar. Many of their guests relax and unwind around the large crystal clear swimming pool, with lazy sun-loungers and table/chairs supplied.
The upper level conference centre can seat up to 80 people. Overhead and slide projectors as well as flip charts can be provided. Other facilities include an Internet café, gift shop, volleyball court, children's climbing frame and a pool table. A visit to the hotel's wellness centre, for a variety of treatments and massage's, including manicure's and pedicures, is a must, especially after a hard day's drive or safari.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be ordered from the chef's 'a la carte' menu. Buffet style meals are served for large groups and in the high season. The evening meal is a highlight in the charismatic 'A Dijo Dinatehe' restaurant (Tswana for eat well) and the fare includes a variety of meat and fish dishes, all served with fresh local vegetables. Sumptuous desserts and liqueurs complement the evening dining. Vegetarians and vegans are also catered for. The raised entertainment platform offers a number of secluded tables for a romantic, candlelit dinner, overlooking the subtly-lit, well-maintained gardens.
